Lightning Logistics LLC is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Terminal Manager to lead our daily terminal operations. This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage drivers and dock personnel, maintain a strong safety culture, ensure customer commitments are met, and keep the terminal operating efficiently.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Terminal Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the terminal, including transportation operations, dock operations, staffing, safety, DOT compliance, customer service, equipment, and employee accountability.

This is a leadership position for someone who is comfortable being actively involved in daily operations and making decisions in a fast-paced transportation environment. This position works Monday through Friday starting at 8pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee daily terminal, dock, and transportation operations.
Manage and provide leadership to drivers, dock workers, dispatchers, administrative staff, and supervisors.
Ensure routes are properly staffed and customer freight is delivered on time.
Monitor daily pickups, deliveries, missed deliveries, mis-sorts, and service failures.
Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, Hours of Service (HOS), ELD, and company safety requirements.
Monitor driver compliance, including Geotab/ELD usage, pre-trip and post-trip inspections, speeding, and safe driving practices.
Conduct safety meetings, employee coaching, training, and corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure proper freight scanning, handling, staging, loading, and documentation.
Monitor dock productivity and maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility.
Manage staffing levels, attendance, scheduling, call-offs, and operational coverage.
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees and drivers.
Review operational reports and identify opportunities to improve service and efficiency.
Investigate accidents, freight damage, safety violations, and operational incidents.
Maintain accurate records and ensure required paperwork is completed and submitted.
Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, drivers, contractors, and company leadership.
Hold employees and contractors accountable to Lightning Logistics policies, procedures, and SOPs.
Lead by example and promote a culture of Safety, Accountability, Communication, and Teamwork.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred candidates will have:

Previous management experience in transportation, trucking, freight, warehousing, or logistics.
Class A CDL with Clean MVR and Background preferred
Experience supervising drivers and dock/warehouse employees.
Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
Understanding of Hours of Service and ELD requirements.
Strong leadership and employee-management skills.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer and transportation-management-system experience.
Ability to maintain professionalism while holding employees accountable.
Willingness to be hands-on and assist wherever needed to keep operations running successfully.
